Notes for Natalie
Natalie, it’s been great to have you in so many literature classes during your time at King’s — especially this last semester with Fiction Writing and Tolkien’s Medieval English Sources. Congratulations, and best of luck in the future!
Natalie, I wish you all the best in everything you do, and hope you have a successful and prosperous writing career.
It seems like such a short time since you wiped the dust of this small town off your feet and started your journey to see the world. You have always been so strong and courageous, and going to New York and finishing college in three years certainly shows that. The pandemic greatly altered your experience, but you took it in stride, and made the best of it. I know you can’t see it all now, but God has a great plan for you. I’m so proud of the woman you have become and I love you so much. I’m very excited to see how your future unfolds, and if you ever need me I’ll be there in a New York minute.
Louisa May Alcott could have been giving words to you ~Natalie~ rather than Jo when she wrote, “I like good strong words that mean something.”
Similarly, this author captured your own mama’s heart when Marme spoke to her wildly talented daughter. “My child, the troubles and temptations of your life are beginning, and may be many; but you can overcome and outlive them all if you learn to feel the strength and tenderness of your Heavenly Father as you do that of your earthly one. The more you love and trust Him, the nearer you will feel to Him, and the less you will depend on human power and wisdom. His love and care never tire or change, can never be taken from you, but may become the source of lifelong peace, happiness, and strength.”― Louisa May Alcott, Little Women
We’ve been blessed with you, my youngest daughter, my source of laughter, my defender of the weak, and challenger of unexamined ideas. Now, write good strong words that mean something, and know that your Heavenly Father’s strength and tenderness is always with you, as is my love.
“Look at everything always as though you were seeing it either for the first or last time: Thus is your time on earth filled with glory.”
― Betty Smith, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn
Congrats Natalie Rose!
No doubt God has great plans for you. You are an intelligent, courageous independent young woman with great promise and success ahead of you. Be sure the Carr Family will be watching and praying for you. Celebrating in spirit with you. Go get ‘‘em girl!
Congratulations, Natalie. You have concluded another important chapter of your life and set yourself up for success in the next. I am blessed to have you as a little sister.
Something Incredibly Touching,
Love Matthew and Megan
You always seemed like such a quiet and gentle soul. How little did I know that behind that gentleness was a strong woman who knew what she wanted and had the courage to go after it!
